The Wars of the Roses
The cause of the wars dates back to the reign of Edward III and the power struggle between his sons after his death .
There were series of battles between the supporters of the House of Lancaster ,( Lancastrians ) and supporters of the House of York ( Yorkists )
Each group was represented by a white rose ( Yorkists ) and by a red rose ( Lancastrians ) .
Henry Tudor took the crown of England and he put an end to the War of Roses .
The Tudor Rose combines the White Rose and the Red Rose .
